Community partnership

Rossmere is committed to becoming a full service, international community school. As part of this process we offer a number of extended services, linking with Sure Start South to facilitate wrap around care.

At Rossmere we fully encourage all forms of community partnership. Provision through partnership bidding has facilitated the new Nursery garden (Pride in Hartlepool) and Neighbourhood Action Planning has enabled school to establish a community trim trail. School hosts a voluntary organisation, Families Matter in our building. One of their successes is the hosting of playschemes at Rossmere Primary school during holiday time.

  After School activities

School operates a wide ranging programme which aims to engage all learners. Examples include: arts clubs, gymnastics, dance, sports, football, Keep Fit (for adults), Brownies, Football in the Community, netball, basketball and e-learning. Future developments will include an Internet cafe for the community. We provide specialist coaches at many of these clubs.

School operates an OfSTED registered Breakfast and After School Club from 3-11 years. This provision ensures that parents can return to work knowing that their children are cared for well. We have recently achieved the Aiming High 4 children standard for our provision.
